well its been a while since ive been on mostly due to a temperary job i landed. its been about a week so far and there is only a day or 2 left. i am working 13 hour shifts in the detroit sewer vaults and its a "DIRTY JOB"[:'(] whats neat about it is there is only a handfull of us working and while we are down in the hole the parking lot consists of 5 diesel trucks with only one cummins in the mix (mine) and the rest being powerstrokes. the head guy of the operation has the new 7.3 (os it is 7.2?) in 2 wheel drive and he thinks he had what it would take to beat me in a race. well to make a long story short i have SPANKED him 2 days in a row while heading home

it might not of been completely fair due to the fact that i have 700 pounds of sand in my truck which keeps my tires from spinning so much but one could argue that i am moving more weight and im still faster! those ford trucks have a nice high end due to the twin turbo so he gets me on the freeway everytime but a real race starts from a stop

i wish i had a video or a picture of this but i dont, what i do have is a picture of me doing a dirty job..... i feel alot like mike row on discovery channel!! (and all your photochoppers out there, keep away from this one!)

How does a cement guy wind up in the sewers?

i thought it was a 7. somthing but i guess i was thinking of the old one[:-]

HAHA, the junk is strapped up because it was a hazzard to everyone around me and as far as the cement guy winding up in a sewer..... well, not working the winters gets pretty BORING real fast so when odd ball jobs come to you like this one did you just jump on the ship without questions! its got to be the nastiest job ive ever done or heard of but the moneys good and its only a week of work.... ill do anything for just a week but as far as underground goes NEVER AGAIN!

 

What exactly are you doing, hosing down the walls of the sewer system?

 

well its a holding vault for all the storm water/sewage and its the size of a football field. somthing broke in it that was supose to keep it clean so there is sewage caked along the entire floor and the job is to remove it. shovels and wheel barrels take the place of machines down there because there is no access for machinary and the water it to make the sludge into a slurry for the pumps to remove it. its amazing how much crap people flush down the toilet, and drop down storm drains (i wont list any[:'(]) but its by far the nastiest thing ive ever seen or done. i am on 12.5 hour shifts starting at 6:30am.... thanks god its only a week job because the heaviest thing ive lifted since i got off work in november is a fork, and its KILLING ME!

with the money im making from the job, its going to temp me to put some into my truck because its all money i havent acounted for
