leaving key in "on" position??
i remember back when i got my remote start put on the guy told me to never leave the keys in the on position because it will fry the glow plugs... well over time i realized that we do no have glow plugs but i still follow that rule just incase. i am always scared that someones going to want to sit in the truck and play the radio and turn the key forward as they would in a gasser and end up screwing somthing up[:-]
are my worrying about nothing, or does this still stay true to out engines???

i am a mechanic at my dad's dealership in pa and it isn't even good to leave the key in a gas job in the on position for long, unless you are working on it. it is much better to leave it in the acc position if you want to listen to the radio. when it is in the on position the pcm(power control module) along with your blower for your heater or A/C and everything elseis on and will drain a battery fairly quickly. when the key is in the acc position then just the radio is on and maybe a few other things depending on how they are wired but not the pcm and the battery will last much longer, 3 hours or so. as far as the grid heaters in your truck, by leaving the keyin the on position it won't hurt them because they go out afterthey warm. thats why in the owners manuel it will state that if yourwait to start light goes out and then you wait to longthat you will have to cycle thekey again or you truck probably won't start.
