You should be so lucky to buy diesel at $4.00 or less.
In the UK we pay £4.20 Sterling (Over $8.00) for a US gallon.
Damned expensive with a Dodge Cummings 3500 dually but I love the beast!!!!
I feel for you. Last time we were over there we were suprszed to see it at 99 p....dad just told us it rolled over over 1.10.

How in the world did you get a CTD in the UK??!??!!??!! We saw one but it was from Sweden; they were just traveling through.

No offense to the original poster, but you have a brand new 08 truck and you're complaining about fuel cost??
Most of us don't mind paying a bit more or even more often to fill our beasts. But just like gassers we are just tired of how RAPIDLY and for no apparent reason fuel price changes. So before you go bashing us in for having vehicles we don't need realize that almost the exact same thread has been created 74 times this month on this site.

It isn't about gas or diesel it is just about how the price immediately pops our checkbooks and thus impact our families.

UK prices are high because they use the taxes for health care such as it is and our gas companies love to tell us how good we have while making billions more than ever

Gas isn't much better. I paid 3.49 for 89 two tanks ago, but only 1.89 the last tank. (Grocery store discount)

So what are you implying I am some rich kid? FYI that brand new truck in my driveway was my trophy from 15 months in Iraq. Thanks. I make 35,000 a year. And I have a mortgage, and a wife, and utilities. How much do you make a year? What are you complaining about?

$3.69 here in southwest kansas.. but that was before yesterdays jump in heating oil.. i think it was around 5%??? it's at 2.93 a gal right now.. thats up from 2.50 - 2.70 in recent weeks.. but it might not be so bad this spring if this article is correct

http://bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=2...p;refer=energy

March 6 (Bloomberg) -- OPEC's decision to maintain production levels will lead to a bigger-than-average increase in oil inventories as demand weakens with the end of the Northern Hemisphere's winter, according to Dresdner Kleinwort.

and az2500 - thank you very much for serving in iraq.. you deserve that truck!!

C'mon, man, I said "no offense" and you instantly took it. All I see is a new $45k truck in the picture and I think of so many kids today who buy way over their heads and then complain when they can't afford insurance or fuel. Obviously, that isn't your case, but that's how it looked and I had to chuckle. If you were a rich kid, you wouldn't have started this thread.

I feel the gas crunch too. Everybody does. Now oil is shooting way over $100 and there's no stopping it. Of course it hurts all of us. However, I can't complain because when I got my truck gas was $1 but with the payment and insurance and repairs/maintenance the cost of ownership was about $500 a month. Now it costs only about $200 a month to operate completely including gas and insurance; all because of no payment, lower insurance and the fact these pickups last a long time.
