i was driving beasty to my shop this morning when i heard a torn metal sound... lasted for about 2 secs...
about 3 mins later my water temp came up and my voltage dropped down ... well maybe my strap is gone but why???
i parked beasty in my shop driveway and popped the hood while letting the engine idling
my strap wasnt turning as suspected so i started to check if it was torn but i grabbed my damper and it was free from the snout....

i torned appart the center of the damper,the littles fins didnt get away,they hold still and the center ripped itself from the pulley itself....
so i removed the rad,shroud and while at it i installed the Blue BD turbo booth on the bottom of the intercooler...
nobody had this piece in stock and stealership was asking 650$,cummins dealer 450$ i had to wait until middle of next week but i found 1 at about 1hr of driving from my place so i jumped in my
old gmc 2500 and pick the piece for 200$

holy carp dood. . . atleast you made it to the shop without anything worse happening

 

For the money the dealers were asking you could have gotten a Fluid Damper! Glad you got her back together.

 

yeah tomorrow morning ill race to my shop as soon im awake to get her back on wheel to get to a construction site tomorrow morning

yeah but fluidamper was BO save in Calgary,4 days to get here and 650$ too

 

nothing against ya but what frickn dealership ya going to checked to see what my dealer price was and it was just under 400 holy crap

 

i think he is talking in canadian dollars... that would be like 660 or more in usd$.. but maybe dodge parts are more in canada..

 

still holy crap man some people on here i think get the raw deal when i hear what they are paying working at a dealer i can get tha tpart way cheaper yet

 

yeah im speaking in canadian dollard but they are about the same now but we will still pay the same price as when our cash worting 65ยข or urs,nobody ever adjusted the price of stuff,we still get raped... and this is the discount price that i got!!!!!

mind ur guys Bombardier shop ios about 1hrs from here and theirs quad is about 3-4K$ more than u will pay on ur side of the border and im about 40mins of the border
a new cummins 6.7 biggest cab full equip run for about 52K$ here,im curious about what u might pay for that on ur side????
