That wont work, they will see profit losses for that week, then the people will buy twice as much gas the next week...
Actually it will work if everyone actually stopped driving for a week. If you put off buying fuel for a week, then it won't work, because you buy twice as much the next week.
Yeah, you are right. I am tired and read that wrong.
Actually would work. They rely on continuous process to produce fuel. If there was a sudden sharp decline in use the tanks would fill to overflow very quickly. The only problem is you can't get two people in this country behind any cause unless it has something to do with a reality TV show or a video game. [:@]
yup... been commuting to the bay area, over $4 bux easy. they were reporting on the news this morning that regular was over $5 bux/gal at some small town 90 minutes of the bay area... ouch!
Also, should mention that with the new settings I'm easily able to get 18.5 or better on the hiway... it's a much easier commute than to grass valley but longer. 105 miles 1 way. tomorrow should be the last day
I remember hearing on a talk show a while back, that if people would stop buying anything other than fuel at the retailers, no pop, cigs, lottery etc, that would put a real hurt on them. No one is gonna stop driving but this sure seems do-able. Their profits on fuel are minimal. If you got the retailers attention, THEY may be able to affect the manufacturers.
Yep ... saw it at $4.02 here in Philly the other day. I tried to take a pic, but my camera battery was dead. I'll be changing the oil and replacing the plugs in my Harley soon. I'm expecting to be riding it a lot more this year.
