Bigriv, yours is attached to the down pipe? Are most of them attached there?
Burban, mine is an aftermarket model. This Pac-Brake unit comes connected to it's own down tube.
This replaces the stock down tube.

OK, new to this exhaust brake. Are you saying to turn it on when you start your truck and leave it on? It increases MPG? Is there supposed to be a LED indication that it's on? Just watched the new Cummins video and it doesnt really eaxplain it well.

Yes there is a button on the bottom of your dash, and when it is on there is an amber colored light on.

i went through 2 tanks of fuel, drove exactly the same for both tanks. one with the brake on and one without, and for some reason that i can not explain it did better with the brake on.

I have an after-market Jake Brake on my truck.

My mileage changes depending on how I'm driving. It will come up a bit cause the rig gets warmer faster (and a warm Cummins is a happy Cummins ) and if I can time the lights correctly so that I don't actually STOP the truck at lights then the mileage stays up. But if I'm still stopping at all the lights and letting the brake slow me down to much so I have to step on it again...well then it down and stays down.

So it is all about how you drive the rig.

I turn mine on in the morning until the truck is good and warm. Then turn it off unless I need it (or heck just wanna hear the sound ).

I turn mine on when I start the rig and keep it on all day. I drive about 300-500miles a day. Never had a problem and the service dept advised leaving it on so soot will not build up and causedamage. MPG is about the same on or off. 25000 miles on OD
