Default Exhaust Brake

Does anyone know anything about the exhaust brake's that come on the new 6.7? I have it on mine, and I am wondering about its durability. Is it safe to use it all the time? I am in central texas and there are alot of hills that go hand in hand with the stop and go traffic. the brake is a blessing, but I don't know how long it will last. Anyone have any idea?

Id say use it when you want, Cause I think it is covered by the 100k warranty

It will help your turbo last longer if you use it all the time. We tell people to turn in on every time that you get in the truck. I believe that it helps keep build up off the sliding nozzle ring.

I do. It helps warm up my engine faster.

I also use mine 24/7. I was told that it's not good to leave it off for long periods of time due to the action possibly seizing up from inactivity. If it's laid up for awhile, some light penatrating oil on the moving parts is reccomended.

Bigriv, yours is attached to the down pipe? Are most of them attached there?
