i like the dualls just its harder to get tires... i cant get the size i want becouse 2 wont fit next to each other ,, limited selectin of wheels and if you do put alloy wheels on it you cant rotate your tires without dismounting and remounting the tires, and the dually is a little wide off road...and six tires cost more than 4... what can i say im cheap. from what i can tell the rear axle on the dually is wider to center the rear tires... i think the front axle can be converted by removing the extenders.... not sure on that part... and a bed swap is in order... but pretty easy.... just need to find a buddy around here who wants a dually.
of course mayfair! though i'm havin a hell of a time finding decent pics... a buddy of mine used to live in chorpus and spent all his time driving up and down the beach in what was once a dually gmc.... all he changed was the wheels and tires, nothing else. if i remember correctly, they were 28 inches wide!
Has anyone come out with a super duper deep dish rim so that you can put one big fat set of rear tires on a dually yet. That would look BADD AZZ !!
I've looked into that configuration. Super Singles are a cool idea, but the wheels from American Force require a 6 to 10 inch lift. I'm not sure what they look like, but no doubt they'd be different. Another negitive is that wheel adapters are needed, and I'm not a big fan of those.
Weld Racing also offers them, don't really like the design though.
Maybe there are different manufaures out there that offer the Super Singles with a direct bolt on pattern and not reqiuire a lift job.
Besides, in the event of a flat, a commercial truck tire shop is required to remove the tire from the rim. Can you imagine carrying two different spares around with ya?
