texas dually to single
hey guys among all the things i am doing i want to swap out the dualls for a single... anyone have any experience on this as far as what i need and anyone in texas wanna swap parts...dallas here
lil 4.7'r has something to say......
theres a guy here in san antonio that has a dually with just 4 tires, they are so mother loving wide that he still has the rear fenders and it still fills them out. it looks pretty bad ***. either do that or keep the 6 tires, love the way the "hips" look. btw dont even want to know how much the tires were, they were pretty bald so i'd imagine he's trying to get every 1/32 out of the tread.

I believe that the rear axle is the same as in 3/4 ton HD trucks, but a little shorter because of the duals. I don't know about the length of the front axle but the hubs are alot heavier duty and stick out a little more. The box would probably need to be replaced. If built like my chevy dually was, the fender well was cut larger than normal with the wider fender flares fastened over top. Can be done but could be a little on the pricey side. Plus, duallys are just way cooler!
I agree, why get rid of the dually?
Anywho, there is always someone asking on here about what it would take to go from SRW to DRW. Find someone with a SRW truck comparable to yours, and swap parts straight out. Hell, you might even be able to make money off the deal.
