Keep the cash in your pocket for a programmer. You will probably not gain any mpg,s. Only time and miles will give you an increase. My 04 was sporting 20.1 when I sold it last month, it started out at 16.4 when she was new, Forget big increases out ofprogrammers, its not gonna happen

Don is right. . .you will not get huge increases in mileage. . .2-3mpg tops and that is keeping your foot out of it and if you are lucky. some trucks dont respond to performance mods as other do.

yes, the setup I have does effect my mileage slightly. . .and if I could find a way to controll my right foot my mileage would be higher, but dang it is soo much fun pissing off the mustang/corvette/GTO crowd when they cannot shake a 7500# truck.

if you want mileage. . .your just not going to get it. but if you want your truck to be more fun to drive, look at an edge box, or smarty downloader. these are the two safest for those who are just getting into the diesel side of the house.

go to this link from Cummins first

MPG Secrets, The Physics of MPG:

http://www.everytime.cummins.com/eve...Whitepaper.pdf

then after reading that
go to this long read, but skip the gasoline engine part:

https://dodgeforum.com/m_447500/tm.htm

the tire rolling resistance, aerodynamics and driver behavior stuff
all apply to Cummins Rams

Pay attention to the 3.42 differential ratio gearsets that have recently been made available from American Axle

Pay attention to the 19.5 wheels and tires on the 2008 Cab/Chassis Cummins Ram
