They will be coming out with a V6 CTD Dakota and Durango in 2010, as well as a V8 CTD for the 1500's. 40mpg though? We arent talking about a VW bug here...
it has been rumored that the v6 in the dakota will be pulling in the lower to mid 30 range the v8 in the new 1500 has been said to be around the mid 20 mark that is what i have learned in the training on the upcoming products they are gonna offer a diesel in the mini van and possibly in the 300 series cars the vans over seas with the diesel are around the 40 mark i have been told anyone heard anything about those?
a friend of mine claims to be getting 23 to 27 in his 03 5.9 short bed automatic what is the differance between the high out put and the old 5.9 how did they come up with the other 55 hp?
It may depend on what you call a truck. I think some people think that any SUV or mini-van is a "truck." If that's the case, a 40 mpg diesel truck is very feasible. I read somewhere recently (I think on Chrysler's media site) that a husband/wife team in Europe took a Jeep Patriot and a Jeep Compass across Europe and averaged 66 and 67 mpg respectively. Both vehicles had a 4 cyl diesel engine which is available in Europe.
