Default gas prices and other rants

First... I am a conservative republican and proudof it. I did vote for bush both times, BUT iam not happy with anyof the politicians dems or rep.

We hit 3.99 for diesel which is CRAP. I have an idea instead of the tax rebate lets cut the price of fuel ( wow totally new cocept). I am no econmist but with lower price of fuel people may be able to afford to go to work and actaully affordtheir mortgage payment. I will get 1800 back but if we ent back to 2.00 on fuel they could have mine back. But waituntill a democrat gets inoffice they will taxour diesel fuel to pay for all the lazy butts out there who want free everything and taxes pay for it. Every body who buys anything from there tv's to their groceries and beer paysfor the price of diesel, when was the last time a delivery truck or semi had a gas motor. Something needs to be done but i am but one small person in this world with a middle class income who cant afford to run for office.I WILL NEVER SELL MY TRUCK OR MYGUNS

diesel is looking at $6.50/ gal by 2010.

heres some food for thought.

what has been the goal of GOVERNMENTS throughout the ages????

CONTROL THE POPULOUS!

best way?

make everything so expensive that they (populous) have to depend upon the GOVERNMENT to take care of them.

sound familiar? same thing Clinton and Obama want .

There was a time when people didn't look to goverment but sadly those days are about 80-90 years behind us. Now even conservatives look to government for answers. Remember what Reagan said "gov't is not the answer to your problems -it isthe problem". Taxes are way out of control which iskind of ironic as that's what started the American Revolution in the first place and only 10% of the population back then was against the crown.Amazing it only took about 10% of the people to say enough is enough... Most were ambivilant and indiffernt regardless if the crown or continentals were in charge... Monetary policy is and has been out of control ever since Congress cededtheir power to print and control money in 1913allowing the private banks toprintit and set policy as they see fit. The "Fed" isnot and never hasbeen a government institution - Bernacke and Greenspan are criminals!! Andrew Jackson warned against allowingthis and look what it's gotten us. The ease of getting credit hasdestroyed this country. We need a revolution in this country that takes us back to strict constitutional government where the United State(s) is a plural entity instead of the singular United States it has become controlled by a fedarl government that makes up the rules as it goes along and ignores the limits on it's power. It won't ever happen though.Everyone has a high def tv and they're fat and happy as long as they can swipe their credit card.. end rant.. [&:]

chirs. . you want to do everything you just said. . .fair tax. . .a complete consumption tax would remove the marxist idea of taxing the income. that is a regressive tax since the more you make the more tax you pay. a pure consumption tax , and removal of the income tax would lower the overall tax rate. not only that, but all the illegals who are here, they would be forced to pay taxes. and you dont pay taxes unless you buy something.

are oil companies making mint. . .you believe it, however the gov't has nothing invested in oil, yet they get 40-70 cents per gallon. while the corner station gets maybe 2-4 cents per gallon. not only that, but the clinton/obama idea of increaseing taxes on oil companies will only backfire and cause the people to pay more for fuel, once again causeing people to revolt, then the next thing you know gov't will take over controll of the oil, and then what would be the price???

Hey, You should come up there to British Columbia. Price of diesel tonight was $1.25 a liter! Sounds cheap until you do the math! 1.259 times 3.78 liters per gallon = $4.759 per gallon! Ouch[:@]
