Under Warranty ????
I was told at the dealer that the front and rear diff oil should be changed every 15000 miles but they want to charge me 139.00 for the front and 179.00 for the rear. If I were to do it my self would that void the warranty being that there was no proof that someone else or the dealer did the work? You would think that service would be covered as well, They change oil, doesnt cost me anything. I just think its not right. Anyone else gone through this before?
Thx.
Thx.

RE: Under Warranty ????
You are not required to have any service performed at the dealer. Just keep a maintenance log showing dates and mileage for the services you have done or perform yourself. If you want further proof, keep the receipt from Auto Zone or whatever showing the purchase of the oil or parts. Just be sure to make a copy of the reciept as most register receipts are on thermal paper and will fade with age or exposure to heat.

RE: Under Warranty ????
The following is out of the warranty manual that came wth the truck.
The warranties don’t cover the costs of your
truck’s normal or scheduled maintenance — the parts
and services that all trucks routinely need. Some of
these parts and services, which your warranties don’t
cover, include:
• lubrication;
• engine tune-ups;
• replacing filters, coolant, spark plugs, bulbs, or
fuses (unless those costs result from a covered
repair);
• cleaning and polishing; and
• replacing worn wiper blades, worn brake pads
and linings, or clutch linings.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the truck owner, you are responsible for the performance
of the required maintenance listed in your
owner's manual. DaimlerChrysler recommends that you
retain all receipts covering maintenance on your truck,
but DaimlerChrysler cannot deny warranty solely for the
lack of receipts or for your failure to substantiate the
performance of all scheduled maintenance.
You are responsible for presenting your truck to a
Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer as soon as a problem
exists. The warranty repairs should be completed in a
reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 30 days.
As the truck owner, you should also be aware that
DaimlerChrysler may deny you warranty coverage if your
truck or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper
maintenance or unapproved modifications.
Knowledge is your friend, please take a few minutes to read the warranty manual. It contains a wealth of information.
