how much heat can a 5.0 take just installed an edge tuner on my 07 5.9 the default in system is 1350 but the sensor is mounted right next to exaust port. in tow mode I just getting into it and temp is at limit

 

Ive been noticing lately that edge seems to be running hotter than other boxes. my TST smarty stack pushing quite a good bit of fuel doesnt get much over 1200 unless I'm lugging it and got my TST cranked.

 

yah alot of people are complaining about that.

i always had egt problems when i was using the pressure boxs but now that i am running the smarty i have noticed its almost not possible to get over 1350-1400.

teebonetuna... dont quote me on this exact number but i am pretty sure 1450 is the number you do not want to come close to. 1350 is what i have my alarm set for and when it gets that hot i get off the pedal but i think with out 600 series engines we can take a little more heat than the earlier years. if you do a search on this site about egts.... im sure you will find the information you are looking for!

I try to start backing off around 1350. I've got my commander set to give an alarm at 1350.
