CB Radio Hookup
Being a newby and not knowing poop. I have a 2004 Ram 3500 with the cummins deisel and Im looking to hook-up my cb radio in the truck. What is the best 12 volt power source ( besides the battery, picking up way to much static noise thru there ) that I can connect the radio to. Thanks great forum

RE: CB Radio Hookup
Not going to be the battery, it is your ground. Try a new ground. And they also have noise isolators at RatShack that usually help. Best bet is find a good factory ground under the dash. Or i used to use the seat bolt. Keep the ground cable as short as you can.
It can be the radio sometimes also. try it in a buddies truck see how it sounds.

RE: CB Radio Hookup
aeroram,
I mounted mine on the passengers side of the center console. I have the 6spd manual so made for interesting mount...I know...useless without pics...I'll try to get outside tomorrow and take some...used a small piece of metal and mounted it to the dash where the small "cup" area is on the passenger side...opposite of the electric 4x4 switch...mounted the mic holder there...painted it black looks very good...
as I said...will take pictures tomorrow.
