Default Silencer Ring

Well, just got around to removing my silencer ring and so far, I can't tella difference. Maybe the loud exhaust system has something to do with not being able to hear it. Only listened at idle so far. Gotta get ready for work, so maybe on the drive there... Couldn't get the damned snap ring out either, so had to use brute force. Will try to get a pic of the ring up when I get a chance. Also, while I was in there, I took the cross-hair looking baffle out. Anyone know what the hell that thing is for?

Ok, so I've very much changed my mind on the not-very-loud opinion I had after removing the ring. Thing is loud as hell now and I love it! And as promised, here's why I can't be a surgeon. I tend to lose my temper when it's cold as hell out and I'm short on time...

Awesome....when all else fails, go balistic on it.

I know when I took my ring out and the cross hairs, it really woke it up. When on the freeway at 70, rolling into it up to about 80-90 is when I think it sounds the best.

Wow, when I took mine out, I too was disappointed, then I drove it, it's loud as hell.
Did you scar up the inlet on the turbo doing that?

I was actually careful not to gall up the housing. Getting metal shavings in the turbo and engine scares the crap outta me.

for one: i had a HELL of a time gettin that damn ring out.... i nearly spent 10 minutes trying diffrent angles and what not. nice job on the brute force

two: when i removed my ring i did not notice much at all.... i would say it was only a 5-10% sound increase but it was until i put my s&b intake on when she really woke up and sung me to my happy place!

and 3: BAD *** TRUCK MAN, i never seen pictures on that. LOVE the white, thats the color i wanted but settled for silver because of how hard a CTD was to find in a long bed in my area.
