I'm sorry that I can't answer your questions, but PLEASE take pics of the teardown and rebuild process. I wish you lived closer. I'd love to help you out.

Woli if your gonna go that far into the engine, do yourself a favor and have the cylinders and deck trued and put some new pistons in there.

woo jake i wont remove the engine from beasty,i dont want to touch the rotating assembly yet,
maybe when ill change my head ill have time and dough to do so but im already putting about 2000$ into it so for now its enough lol
headstuds,4.5krpm rod and spring,gasket fire ring,head decked and grooved,cam

next step will be twins....i cant stop thinking about that, the r700 twin upgrade kit prolly

as for cam im still wondering whitch one to buy, almost every cam available are regrind...whitch i dont understand how they can be better since they can only reduce the lobes, they can
open and close valves faster but they cant get more duration or bigger lift...i dunno they go for about 450$ but i have no trust in that
i think Helix 2 would be a better choice, they run at 900$ though but i wont fear to snap it everytime i hammer it
