Default Fuel issue ULSD

What would happen if you ran a tank or two of L.S. fuel in the new 6.7 which requires U.L.S. fuel?
My truck won't start, it just turns over and doesn't fire.

First of all, I'm shocked that you were even able to find LS. Where the heck are you?

Your Ram should still start with it in there, although it may be a little rough if themuffler thingis clogged.

Did the check engine lightor any other come on?

Finny is correct, the extra sulfur tends to clog the DPF. The overhead display will let you know if the DPF is clogging.

Also, when it comes to fuel, the specifications ULSD and LSD refer to maximum levels of sulfur. ULSD can have no more than 15 PPM of sulfur, and LSD can have no more than 500 PPM. Many of the pumps that are labelled LSD probably have sulfur levels much lower than the maximum, because most of the refineries have switched their production to ULSD. A tank or two of fuel from a pump labelled LSD is probably not going to do any damage.

I drive an 18 wheeler. Mine is pre 07 so i run the 500 ppm whenever i can find it.A few friends of mine have new rigs. 1 ran 500 ppm in his 1 time and messed it all up. I know its slightly different considering 1 tank to him is 300 gal and hes pulling 80,000 lbs. You may not see any problems but i personally wouldnt mess with it.

I wasn't paying attention at the pump a couple weeks ago, cause I thought every pump was ULSD and $80 later I looked down and seen the LSD tag and thought the same thing you did. I didn't have any problems and the truck still ran the same as it does with ULSD. Don't really know what it would do if I kept running it.

1 tank of LSD will not harm the 6.7 the DPF will need to go into regen mode more often, however, no harm. now, if you run a few tanks of LSD it will harm the DPF. no harm to the engine, EGR or most other systems, only the DPF.

now as far as the truck not starting, I would see if there are any codes first. turn the key from off to on three times and write down anything that shows up. if it says done then you have nothing. now if you do have codes it will display them, then say done.
