MPG thread looks to be done...
as the title says... I wont be driving the ram to & from work much anymore... traded the Dak in for a 1.8T jetta... 1st tank 31.3 mpg, 10~20 miles @ 90 or above, lots 80 or above... at least it has a turbo[&:] bought it for the mileage only... benifit is it's pretty strong on the hills.
I want to go to a 3" IR spring up front on the Ram and will be less concerned now about mileage on it [sm=icon_rock.gif] It appears that I will have to start dealing with smog inspection next year so there wont be any mods done that I cant easily un-do...
the Dak was a project truck to get JR more wrenching experience. it's already paying off as his sister asked him to tune up her dak while he's up there visiting (Washington). When all was said & done, both he & I came out ahead on it. Him with the experience & me with extra $ plus useage.
Hank, I am aware of the coil pack problem already... and of course there are enough VW motorheads out there that some company came up with an upgrade for it. I cant believe how many VW/Audi motorheads there are for the 1.8T. Should be fun. 1st mod I plan to do is the fuel cooler mod like I did to the bmw's & the 2000 ram (also doing it to the 2005 ram). on the bmw's it gave a good bump in low/mid range torque, which would have helped mileage if I didnt have the go pedal smashed to the floor 75% of the time
