Rotating that alt pulley worked just fine lex.

The first thingI would reccomend to anyone who is getting ready to do this job though, is to familiarize yourself with the front of your engine where your injection pump is. On some Rams apparently the vent pipe is there, whereas on mine there was just a cap that you unscrew in order to see the top dead center line. I throughly cleaned that entire area ( it was pretty gunky ) before starting.That way no dirt got into the hole once I unscrewed the cap. I also had to grind down my allen wrench to make it easier to reach the back two valves. Keep in mind too that the allens are metric, so if you don't already have a metric set, you'll need one, however the bolts / keepers / whatever they're called are 9/16's. The valve cover bolts I think were 10mm. Weird ....

hey after you are done helping bars then you both can come down to beaver, pa area and help me do mine. ive been thinking of doing this but i just haven't had the time. i have 2 of the 4 ball joints that i put in back in december that are now bad! they are ACdelco and are going back under warranty because the sales rep told us to try them and that they would last forever! well he got an ear full when i checked them 2 months and 3000 miles later and guess what they are loose! he told me that they are supposed to have some play in them so i said show me that in your little book and he looked and said o i guess they aren't supposed to. you can help install them too if you like? everything should be easy since i put a ton of lube on all the bolts so that nothing would seize up like it was!

 

How far is Beaver PA from Philly?

Bars, I was just out in Pittsburgh before Christmas. Are you all the way out there? I rode my scoot out.

 

I'm right on the Ohio line just north of the turnpike. 1 hour north of Pittsburgh. justviper1 is about 1/2 south of me. Next time you come out we'll all have to get together.

I kinda like my family. Why would I take them to Philly? I'd feel safer taking them to work.
