Totally normal... It's called a power Chirp... [sm=shades.gif]

But if you want to get rid of it... Pour some pepsi on it. What will happen is the pepsi (or soda pop) will get sticky and make it quit...

you might want to check with your dealer too. Or maybe parts/service will chime in. I believe there's a TSB for that. Something about replacing the belt tentioner. Don't know what year trucks it was for though/

like mentioned though... it's the nature of the beast. There a lot of torque even when shuting down

if you want the technical answer of what is going on. . . the engine actually stops turning quicker than the acessories. this is where the chirp comes from. it only happens on auto's since the manuals have that heavy as heck flywheel to keep the engine rotating a touch longer.

It can only stop in one of six specific positions being the high compression motor it is. The corection it makes causes the belt chirp as it snaps to one of those positions. Sometimes it falls very close to one of those positions and the chirp is barely there, or not at all. It's totally normal!
