Default Have a couple of problems

My '05 2500 2wd just rolled over to 100K miles.

Before I left on my 600 miles road trip, no problems.

Coming into town, I stop at a stop light (4 miles after rolling over to 100K) and the tranny feels like it shifts down... AFTER I stop, and it lunges forward a bit. Then when I accelerate from stop, it takes it a second to go back into higher gear.. (Torque converter??) This is still happening BTW.

And also, the next day I'm driving to work and the e-brake light doesn't go off (havn't even set parking brake in a while) - still does it when I first start the truck and lasts anywhere from 5 sec-20 min

So it finally goes off about 5 miles later.. then I get on the highway and cruise control will not engage. Still won't.

Any thoughts?

I would clean and tighten the battery cables.

Hereis a full write up on the code reading...
http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/2002%2...rror_codes.htm

And here is the error code listing...

There is 2 things that kick the E-Brake light... The usage of the E-Brake pedal (or it not returning completely - too much slack) or lack of pressure in part of the system. Normally can be reset by pressing the service pedal hard. Are you loosing any brake fluid? (Leakage?).

When was your last fluid change? Do you have a Trans Temp gauge in the truck (If not I highly suggest you get one!) ? Is the trans full of fluid? Is it still bright RED yet? (Discolored fluid is a sign of overheating)Does it smell burnt? (If so its a sign it overheating!)

Here is a maintenance schedule listing from the Factory Service Book...
