Few Questions
First off anyone know some good airbags for a 2001 3500 dually pulling a 45 foot gooseneck horsetrailer?
Second is how fast would you say I am able to go in 4 high. This last winter got really icey on I-40 and I had instance I was going about 40 and went from right lane clear across into ditch, which once i made it into left lane my intentions were for the ditch. I never really asked for found out what max speed would be and how long. Its not axle I worry about, its the 4x4 gear box.

I'm running Firestone Ride Rites. My truck weighs 10,140 pounds 24/7. I love them. In 4wd. I drive 60-70mph. for sometimes 60 miles straight, depending on where I'm working. I now have 105,000 miles on my truck. I haven't changed transfer case fluid or transmission fluid and she runs great, no slippage,or noises in either trans or transfer case.
My good old Okie brother from the homeland 20 miles out... just wanted to say sorry I didn't call when I was home over x-mas, I left my phone of all things on the way up there. I'll be up there this summer and will hit you up, surely you'll be home from college...sorry I cant help with the 4x4 thing but I've run 4 wheel on the highway when it was icy and had no trouble in any 4x4 vehicles...
Yea, over christmas I-40 was icey and while it was fun 4x4 woulda helped me. I know front axle can take it but I'm always told the transfer case is where it heats up.As for summer I'm working for Midcon Compression pretty much all over the northwest side of state.

no issues pushing 80, one thing you need to consider tho is if youre needing 4x4 becuase of ice etc youll still need to be able to stop, and good luck at highway speed. even a dually would have issues keeping a straight line.

Sorry but stopping on Ice should be common sense. I love when people think 4x4 also means all 4 brakes applyinstead of two. And my next question, does the transfer case actually always spin, just disengaged. My front axle doesnt have lockers on it.
Looks like everyone adressed the snow and speed issue, but I might add something about air bags. A few months ago, I installed some airbags made from Pac-Brake. I am partcial to Pac-Brake, but after researching them, I want to think that Pac-Brake is a better product. I know that Firestone Riderite's are very popular, and have been around awhile, but I liked the Pac-Brake's. Here is a pic of their ad on there site, worth going there to check out!
