Hey Mike, do you use anything other than just the pressure of the water to clean your engine bay? I just use Simple Green and hot water from a regular hose ( I have it piped up to my hot water line ).
Just checking to see if there's something better out there that maybe I don't know about.
Do you cover anything up like the batteries or the alternator and stuff like that before powerwashing?

Funny... You don't want to know... LMAO!
My hose taps in the yard have high pressure from the get go. I'm roughly 180-200 PSI. I've got a irragation dam a 1/4 mile up the mountain. So by the time it travels to the yard I've got high pressure water. Always cold too (40-43*F). Maybe that why I plumbed in a 1 1/2 Inch Fire Hydrant fitting in the line between the houses... I fill a 300 gallon tank fire truck in less than 5 minutes... In about8 minutes I can fill my 500 gallon structure fiure truck.
So by the time I add my cheesy 1500 PSI electric power washer... Look the hell out the grease and muddont stand a chance of hanging on my truck for long... I don't use any soap, simple green, or degrease at all... But if a friend comes with a really nasty truck I'll spray it down with oven cleaner and then wash it down... (Oven cleaner will attack weak paint and darken aluminum!)
But since I wash my engine bay weekly in the summer I don't have to use much more than my standard garden hose and a spray nozzle... I don't cover anything... I just avoid the air filter thats all... Everything is fair game under my hood!
(OT Note!) This summer I plan on getting a tarp and lining my bed of my truck and using a fire hose and filling the bed with cold water and get some friend to ride around in the bed of my truck this summer... (LMAO!)

Exactly! But not a beat up Ford... But a nice looking Cummins Truck with Guys and Gals sitting in the back! Cruising main street Riggins, ID... (Redneck Town) LMAO!
But as for washing my truck the only thing I can remember having problem with was the WIF light coming on once... Wet connector. Then one time in the woods playing in deep snow I threw the CEL light and a crap load of weird errors. Wet connection. After it dried out it was fine...
