I put the duralast's on mine at 50000, but see if they have a upgrade if you go to the zone, the pads from there get the rims dirty quicker, they do stop better than stock.

Shoot Mayfair I don't know what you doing wrong.... At 120K miles I've got about 60% of my pads left so I figure I will be replacing my first stock pads at about 250K miles (quarter of a million miles!!!)

Exhaust Brakes are wonderfuil devices! worth every penny! [8D]

metallic, I was going to check and see if they had ceramic for it, I do like there life time warranty, I have a long list of parts they replaced over the years on my cars and trucks

Well, they're on and my passenger side rotor took a little hit. The inside pad had JUST started to dig into it. It could use a turning, but there's no way I was going to take that whole hub assembly apart to turn the rotor. I instead just replaced the pads and will order a new set of rotors and pads to be replaced at a later date. Effing sucks. I JUST put these rotors on last year.

MM73 - I hear ya about the exhaust brake, and I've definately given it some thought, but i don't know how much help they'd be with city driving.

Being I'm a manual trans and got the exhaust brake I can slow down to about 10-15 MPH before using my brakes in the city. I can drive like this all over Boise, ID in heavy traffic... This why my brake are in great shape I drive like the service brakes don't exist...

Well ... thinking about what you had suggested about an exhaust brake, I checked with my Garmin to see exactly what kinda driving I am doing

Check this out ...

I drove 13,531 miles since getting it

Overall average miles - 28.0

Moving average speed - 34.2 mph

Max Speed - 106 mph

Stopped time - 86:41

Aren't exhaust brakes kinda set up not to work until above 35mph? If so, it doesn't look like they'd help me much at all.

Didn't Steve have a DIY listed on that subject?

yup... and here it is... https://dodgeforum.com/m_959389/tm.htm

if you have brakes going out too soon, make sure you grease the sliding pins so that they dont bind or stick. that could contribute to accelerated wear IMO. I'd also flush the system incase you have gunk building up at the proportioning valve for the rears... could cause the fronts to work harder which may also accelerate the wear.
