Well I think my pump is dead since it won't start and its been doin wierd things for a lil while now. I can maybe get a rebuilt one for 800 but I can maybe get a used on with low miles for 400 + bout 150 to install. If I would go with a used one, I would get a FASS soon after before any performance upgrades because that what made mine die. Does anyone have any comments about this?
I hope you don't get duped in this deal. I would really hate to see you spend good money on a VP44 pump and have it fail shortly after because the pump was failing all ready... Is there any kind of warranty for this pump? If not I wouldn't do it... Just to risky...
Well the guy I would be gettin it from, hes a good friend of my friend that go to with my diesel problems. The same guy would also install it for me. I'm just gonna have to wait till monday and see what he says.
well it would idel funny for awhile after I got bad fuel, like it you tap the pedal real quick, it would heistate and driving you would give it a lil gas and you tell something was funny
I would stay away from it unless it is dirt cheap or has a warranty. I'd also replace your lift pump BEFORE you replace your VP44. If the lift pump is bad, you'll just kill your new VP44.
well I'm gettin a rebuilt injection pump installed for 1500 wednesday and I check my lift pump awhile back and I had 15 psi idling and it bout 6 months old
yea dude i put a new lift pump in my truck and it worked good for 2 weeks, then went back down to 6psi...so my lift pump is bad...i installed a fass system so i wouldnt trust your pump it could be bad still, atleast install a gauge for it or a warning light kit they sell at bd diesel
