Removing Intake Baffles

Gang,
I was going to remove my intake baffles on the 6.7 so I could get a little more turbo sing. I have no plans to remove the silencer ring as I've read too much negative about it with the 6.7s. If I remove the baffles, could this really lower my EGTs and thereby effect the DPF regen process? I've read a few posts on other forums that seem to suggest that, but these posts were in early 07 when everyone was still unclear on how the whole regen process worked.
Any thoughts? Anyone running a 6.7 with these removed for an extended period of time?
Mike

To me it would seem to matter if the baffles were out- you would be removing restriction for more air flow. No difference in buying a CAI that allows formore air flow. I believe the computer senses the changes and makes the adjustment. But then again Im not a mechanic. I pulled them out of my 06 5.9 and didn't notice any change in mpg or lower EGT's. Haven't really thought of doing it to my 6.7 yet.

Thanks for the replies.
I've read that the guys removing the silencer ring on the 6.7 have noticed a performance loss. Some have even dynoed before and after and see about a ~20hp loss with it out. And since it doesn't use the snap ring like the 5.9, you can't really put it back in easily either.
