Default Do you think these tow hooks will work?

Do you think these tow hooks would work on my brackets?

I've got stock style brackets that GRI made for me, but I never got the hooks. I found a guy selling these off of a Ford, and you KNOW how well Ford's tow hooks hold up !!

Whadda ya think?

the closed ends suck. its nice to just hook the loop instead of choking the tow rope. not a big deal but its easier to just hook.

Looking at the pics... I know with my truck I could tear those up in a single pull... When I pull logs I pull big stuff so I highly doubt those will hold up...

Here a video and pic of my buddy with his 93 going for it!

This is give an idea how big of a log it really is compared to his 6 year old son and me standing next to it...

So I highly doubt those little rings would work...

I'm sure they would be fine as far as pulling goes. it could easily hold the weight of that log. they have to be rated for twice the vehicle weight.

keep in mind he is just using the hooks not the brackets

I think they would work great... as long as your not trying to pull a house down... for yanking a stuck truck they should hold up fine. My tow ring that I had a while back... lost it left it on the back of the truck while I did the steering upgrade and forgot to put it back in. never did find it. Remember last summer I used it to haul out that ford that was ready to roll... it was not as beefy as the ones ur looking at...

That's right

I still have the brackets that you made for me last year and I haven't found the hooks to go with it. I found these and I thought they'd look pretty cool so I told the guy I'd take em. $25.00 delivered - no biggie. I doubt I'l ever even really use them. I just think they'd LOOK cool. Once they get here, I'll hafta grind the brackets off that they arewelded to now, and then mount them to the brackets that you made for me.

I can't remember, it's been so long, will I need any or different bolts to mount up those brackets?

it doesnt look like the hooks are welded. it looks like they are bolted to the brackets.

you could use those bolts and mount them straight up to my brackets

Nope, they're welded on there as well. I already sked the guy if they come apart and he said "No". No biggie, I'll just grind off the brackets and yeah, I was planning on just useinf those bolts right onto the brackets that yo made for me.

The bolts thatI wasasking about are the bolts to bolt the brackets onto the truck. Can I just use what is there now, or will I need new ( longer ) bolts?
