It only goes to 17" what's the point. I only lift the truck to change the brakes and its just easier to have both fronts lifted at once. I can fit under the truck without a jack for anything else.

That is true, it is not as high, but like you said, all I really need to jack it up for is to take off the tires really. I have a project truck in my garage, and my wifes ranger, so it is more than enough.

So am I understanding you guys that a 3ton floor jack that goes to 20" is not enough? you need to go higher or heavoer capacity?

I am a long way from home right now and cannot go measure. However I just found a pretty good deal on a 3ton Jack that I am thinking about buying (not craftsman). However if it is not going to go high enough then I need to start hunting again!

i say higher inches, 20 would be min..., the 3 ton is pleanty in the weight category...
