Help a gasser out :)

is that the brackets need to be bolted to your front, which usually means drilling if you look hard enough on line, you MIGHT be able to find a vehicle specific one that will mount to your tow hook bolts, if you have them.

this one says i dont need a bracket kit that it bolts onto the frame.. but where?

that JCwhitney would bolt to the frame where your tow hooks are. it says you dont need a kit, which i assume is something additional. if you look at the pic closely, those little swivel things on the ends are the frame mounts, held to the tow bar by steel pins, just like the kind you use to hold your hitch in. you would have to bolt those brackets to the flat spot of your frame, each bracket has two bolts.

one other thing: if you use a tow bar, the front of your ram is gonna be right up the *** end of what i assume is gonna be dually wheels. i'd recommend looking for a way to cover that nose up! otherwise rock chips galore! (you would need to worry about that with a dolly too...)
oh ok good idea, should have an *** load of bubble wrap left lol...
think ill drive up to a uhaul, found a tow bar on their website, maybe i can then see exactly how it mounts.. and ill also have to fumble for my manual and see how to set up the park N thing..... god why cant my truck just get stolen and i buy a new one in fla....
thanks for all the info/help
will update once i talk to Uhaul..

oh, and one more thing... if you go with a tow bar, make sure you don;t get into a position where you need to back up. it just flat out doesnt work. make sure you set yourself up where you can always move forward. if you try to back up, your front wheels of the towed vehicle will turn the opposite of the way you need it to go, because of friction and what-not. you will end up crunching something cause it will turn, and very sharply and quickly! ( the reason for not having a rear steered vehicle)
yeah im kinda worried bout getting diesel, a buddy let me drive his rig while loaded and it wasnt too bad, but i didnt have to get it into a spot. sure Truck stops will have much larger bays but the pivot point will be in the rear. i do have a few plastic gas containers so if i do F up and dont think i can make it in there ill just have to make a few 20 yard walks with the gas cans.... woohoo look at the idiot (said all the truckers)
