yeah its the biggest they offer, the box on it is 26ft.

I just really dont want to load up, drive 1k miles, unload, fly back and drive another 1k miles

Thakfully the rental trucks are dirt cheap since everyone is moving to Texas they have too many, its 340 bucks for a 26ft. To ref that when I moved to texas from fla I was in the 16 ft f350 and that was 1300 bucks.

Just got an email. 745 for door to door.

Figure I get 20 mpg on hwy, so that's 50 gallons @ $4 so 200 bucks in gas. Figure airplane is 250, hotel another 80 so 530 total but that's putting 1k miles on the truck and time and energy. Oh and $80 cab ride from airport to pick up my truck. So 610.

Or 150 with uhaul and prob an extra 80 bucks in gas so 230. Argh. I'm leaning towards the auto service. We'll see maybe visiting a uhaul tomorrow will make me feel better bout hooking it up.

I really did consider that, but I dont know if that's legal and ive got to stop at weigh stations.

Maybe I can find a trucker here and offer to give him a backhaul so he's not running empty and draft behind him.
I'll usually find a truck to draft, at night they'll hit 80-85 on I10, although with diesel I'm sure theyre backing down for better fuel econ

do you have more stuff that can fit in the back of their biggest rental trailer? i used to work for a moving company and you'd be surprised how much stuff you can fit in a trailer if you pack it right, all the way to the ceiling. is there a reason you don't just use you ram to tow a trailer?

oh yeah I'd need a 5th wheel to have a chance. Have a 2400 sqf house, amazing how much crap single 24 yo can have. Huge king size bed, each bed post is 100lbs. 20ft long 7ft tall wall unit, huge marble coffee table so I can't set it on anything and dont want to load anything on that table either, has a lot of detailed wood work so can't set it on its side, so just that one table takes up a lot of sqf yet doesn't give me a lot of cubic feet.
The covered uhaul trailers are way too small, but even if I found one I have too much weight, easy 15k pounds. I did the math a while ago when I was just gonna leave most stuff in the house and trailer a uhaul out to fla and then uhaul the rest once the house sells.
Have a few old tables like 60 years old and one table that's over 100 years old so wouldnt pile those like reg furniture.

Just got another bid 645, hopefully the trend continues. I saw some nice looking brackets that I can leave on afterward for hooks but they were like 300+ a lil steep.

Think I'm gonna head off to bed and dream of a 450 bid. Ha yeah right.

Thanks again for your input.

You may already know this but I didn't the first time I moved ... be sure to take your tables apart and remove the legs. Don't try and stack them or stack stuff on top of them and expect the legs to hold up to the bumps going down the highway. []I did this on a move from Indy to Atlanta years ago and the table legs looked like match sticks when I got to Atlanta.

Plus, if you break these tables down, you'll have alot more room and will probably be able to get it all in there.

Here, you go this is the trailer I used to haul a freinds 4x4 from SLC to PHX. The standard car carriers aren't rated high enough to carry a full size pick up. I have used their trailers several time and have been happy everytime. http://www.sunbeltrentals.com/catalo...mp;itcd=199648
