Default Help! Trying to install manifold probe....

I got my gauges and I got the 1/8" NPT 27 tap and an 11/32 drill bit, thing is these look smaller in diameter then the probe, is that right?
I am standing by waiting to hear what you think cause I am afraid to move forward if this isn't right. Thanks!
Here are some pix I took, what do you think?? I double checked dieselmanor to make sure I got the right stuff...
I have a T-440 1/8" x 27 NPT Tap and and 11/32 drill bit for the R3707G 2 1/16" 1500 pyrometer

if the pitch of the tap matches the pitch of the nut that is going into the manifold you will be good. . .but from my perspective, something about the pitch of that tap doesnt look right.

do the threads line up with the nut???

be sure to use some anti-sieze

one thing about taps is they are tapered. . .at the end it will be smaller to get the threads started, then it will progressively cut the threads deeper and deeper. that is why you have to run the tap all the way.

what I'm seeing that doesnt quite look right is the pitch of the nut and the pitch of the tap. if you put the two together do they mesh???

Just got done drilling my manifold tonite, what programmer/module you installing? The threads look a little more coarse than what is supposed to be used on the manifold side. It looks like the same tap I used, but from the pic the side that has the nut on it looks like the side that should go to the manifold.

Its an adjustable probe, the threads closer to the end of the probe go in the manifold. The tap does not look right to me the, the threads do look more coarse then the probe. Uggghhhh!!!

Well take that nut off the other end of the connector and see what the threads look like, to me the connector is backwards. The connector looks like the same one as my edge system and on the edge system the connector is reversed from the way you have it in the pic. And at least you'll have it a hell of alot easier drilling out the manifold in that 5.9 than I had it in my 6.7.

It is an adjustable probe the small threads go into the bigger threads and tighten down on the probe, it cannot be turned around. The bigger threads go into the manifold.

The tap states what I was told to get but it appears to be wrong

Well, I can tell by the pic that it is not gonna work. Your gonna need a different type of threaded tap and a bigger one. Sorry, what is the brand on the probe?
