Default CTD Gotta Go!!! Back to ford

Pulled my 10,000 pound camper on the highway again today. The CTD just takes all of the fun out of it. Here is a list of the CTD downfalls.

Pulled at 70 MPH and It seemed like it wasent evan back there.

No White knuckes when it came to climbing hills.

Stopped on a dime whenI needed it to.

And I knew I was going to get there without any problems.

Just really is not any fun pulling something like that.....

Glad it's working well for you, I love mine. Pulling the camper is easy for this truck; ours is about 10k loaded too.

What camper do you have and what hitch are you using? We have the 34' monster in my sig and I still don't have the Reese Dual Cam setup quite right. It sways really bad over 60 mph.

We have the 31QBSS in the same model. I had the whole setup "system" on my ford with the weight bars and sway this...Now I just hook it on the ball and go. Funny you are in dallas GA. We just moved from macon GA to Buffalo NY! I have the same truck as you except the 5.9.

Yea, no doubt! And we're trying to move back to Indiana ... go figure.

I must have the tires of the Ram under inflated or something then, I get really bad sway out on the interstate. I drove to Ohio and got this one and found religion on the way home. Lots of cross winds with semis flying by me; not fun.

I know what you're saying. I traded a ford for my CTD. What used to be high stress white knuckle trips with the fith wheel, are now smooth, quiet, and uneventful. And I don't even get to stop at as many fuel stations as I used to. I haven't weighed my trailer, but she's running right around 14,000lbs. You're gonna love that CTD.

We are taking the camper to Cedar Point OH for 12 days in July! I can't wait. Have you checked the air pressure in the trailer tires yet? I know if mine get below 50lbs I get some sway. I normally keep mike @ 65 when traveling and I let them down to 45 when it is sitting. seems to help allot with the dryrot.

mikebol,
Keep 60% of the weight in front of the axels, sway should go away. oh yea try to make sure the trailer sits level or even a couple inches lower in the front.
hope this will help.
