The only thing I can suggest yes your payment is going down because your turning a 5 year car loan into a 30 year loan. so simple math $20,000/60 payments=333 per month now 20,000/360 months $55 per month. there is yoru saving but now think of the interest for having $20,000 out for 30 years not 5 now.

I did not add the car loan on to the house loan, I'm not that stupid. I refinanced the car at a lower interest rate less then 24 hours of doing the house. My Credit Union payed off the car loan I had some place elses and gave me a 1.6% lower rate for the car loan and that alone saved me $25.36 per month. I plan on taking the money I save each month to help pay off other bills sooner.

writing off the interest is basically a myth, the few dollars you save on your taxes is laughable. Plus like someone said before you're turning a 5 year note into a 30 year. So when your cummins is long gone rotting in the land of ferds you'll still be paying on it.

I do have the rings on the homeowners policy, along with the silver, china, and jewlery I got when my grandmother passed away last year.
on to pf that I took pictures of everything, including video. I also have pictures of my firearms with the serial numbers. both tape and memory stick are in a very safe location.

drew,
your ho policy only covers up to 2k for theft of jewelry and no coverage for damage or if ya lost it.
Same with the guns.
You should have a separate policy called personal article floater (paf) or valuable personal property (VPP) basically the same, they just changed the name, its still an inland marine policy. Now if you had you house for a while you may have an older endorsemt on the ho pol called jwfs jewelry watches furs silverware, that is a crap policy and you still have your ded. They dont even offer it anymore because its crap and the VPP is a much better pol.
The firearms should be insures sep as well, all they need is model, .cal, basic desc like if its a blued barrel or stainless etc.
Whats your ded and liab?
Feel free to pm me if you have any questions, the last 18 months all I did was homeowners insurance, but if you have any questions on your auto I can help you there as well.
