hhhmmm. . .I may have some time this weekend to do that. . .I'm pretty sure it can be spliced into the ground wire if that is the case.
do not splice it back into the ground that is in the harness... it is the same thing as having it the way it is now. what your doing is routing the noise back to the battery and bypassing the tst box. if you put it back into the ground wire in the harness your sending it back into the box. I worked with TST when I made the suggestion on this fix and they had me try a bunch of different setups and nothing worked as well as what I described... it's 1 wire cut on the remote gnd (the shield) and soldering the shield at the other end to a wire and connecting it to the battery or fender (I did the fender and it works fine for me).

if you use the jumper that they provide to remove just the box, this part (part of the remote cable) stays behind. I will take a pic of what I did and post it here over the weekend...

I can light them up with just my smarty on the 90hp setting. . .60hp needs 2nd gear. but the TST sure does help

Steve, I got to wondering if that may have been my problem all along. I got the newest programming on the box and remote, will still do this mod anyway.

nope, the problem you describe was totally different than what I had and what was fixed. what would happen is you shut off the truck, fire it back up & the settings on the TST remote would be different. It seemed to be related mostly to the power levels & injector pressure levels...oh and also the turbo timer. Once I did the fix, I have had zero changes in the power levels & injector pressure settings, my turbo timer however sometimes does not keep the motor on like it should. this happens about 1x every 6~8 weeks, sometimes longer. I dont think this is related to the remote harness issue though, I think that problem may be in the box itself.

Also, fyi, I've had mine set like this for about 5 months and as I mentioned... zero issues with the remote settings changing.
