Default YAY. . .my TST is back

the guy's there did tests on it and couldnt replicate the problem, however the went ahead and flashed it to the newest programs so hopefully that will fix the issue I was having with it. . .

I wonder what kind of changes were made from the old program to the new one. BTW, I just have the R37 basic model. just enough frills to pin you to the seat when stacked with smarty

So how was the first test drive? It's been nearly a half hour, surely you have it installed already.

Drew have you had alot of probs with the tst? I have two friends that have them in their 06's and they have had some codes thrown and they just out of nowhere jump up to the highest level while driving- don't know if you had that prob.

no mine was a bit different. it didnt matter what gear I was in or what speed I was going, or for that matter how hard on the throttle I was.

there is an issue with the 06's and it depends on what the date of manufacture is. anything past 6/06 and the TST doesnt work right. has something to do with the programming of the ECM.

now the jumping of the levels on the box itself is a known issue and there is a flash for it. my box is over 2 years old and was still under warranty.

Didn't you have a problem with some wires pulling out of the harness as well, or was that something else?

there is a fix for that... you will need to cut the shield from the cable on the inside of the remote, trim it back so it cannot short on anything. then on the other end of the cable where the connector is and heat shrink tubing, cut that back and expose the shield. solder a wire onto that shield and ground it to the body or battery. I had the same issue, this fixed it. my problems were occuring 3~5x a week, since this change 0 times... works awesome.

basiclly the shield was grounded thru the cable and picking up noise as it went back to the main TST box. that noise was causing corruption in the communication from the remote to the main box. one could take it a step further and open the shield on the other side of the connector (main box side) and ground that one too. overkill from my stand point. the above fix took care of my problem real well.

hhhmmm. . .I may have some time this weekend to do that. . .I'm pretty sure it can be spliced into the ground wire if that is the case.
