Are you sure it isn't this one and maybe you just don't have the aux wire?

Nope...

To be perfectly honest, I'm not really sure of anything... that COULD be it.

BTW... I did try adjusting the gain on my brake controller (I've got a Draw-Tite Activator) to no avail.

I've printed out all of your wiring diagrams and hope to put them to use this afternoon (or sometime over the weekend).

I've got an outstanding request to haul a horse, so... I kinda need to get this working...

Again...

Thanks...

Steve

Well, I think that 7 pin diagram that I just posted is probably the most common wireing that you'll find. After that it would be probably the flat 4 pin. Take some pics and maybe we'll be able to figure it out for ya.

I bought an adapter that fits in the 7-prong plug, on the truck, and the 6-prong cable from the trailer plugs in... and the lights work great, but... the trailer brakes are locked.
Do the brakes lock up when you connect the plugs or do they lock and stay locked after you step on brakes? Sounds like something is crosswired somewhere.

they shouldnt lock up at all unless you have the controller set way too high, or you have the test button depressed.

kinda fun doing that when unloaded and just pulling a trailer. . .crank up the gain and tap the trailer breaks and wait for the smoke to apear

My controller was acting a little hinkey last weekend.

I'd adjust it, and it would be fine for several stops, and then outta nowhere the next time I stopped the brakes would lock up and smoke like crazy.

Any ideas?

Mine locked up no matter what the setting was or if the box was plugged into the truck or not. When it happened to me, I thought the box went bad and unplugged it. I just got rid of the adapter and put a 7 wire plug on my trailer. I figured that is one less thing that can go wrong.

Check the adapter, if you can access the side panel you can change the pins, mine had to be changed to pull a hudson flatbed. Instructions came with the adapter from WalMart. Hope this helps.
