Well I just confirmed tonight that the local gas station chain no longer carries the LSD. The last tank and this one were/are ULSD. The good news is I got 18.4 MPG!!!! I used the last of my Power Service bottle in the last tank. I'm going to try the 2-stroke oil this tank. Hopefully my mileage keeps going up. I have put 19,500 miles on the truck in the 1 year I've owned it.

yup, even the places that sold LSD way after the deadline have run out and changed out to the ULSD.

it is sad seeing as ULSD has even more refining than gas.

 

fwiw... expect a 1~2 mpg drop in mileage, that's what I saw when I had it rammed down my throat back in '06... Cali's been on it since July of '06.

 

The last tank was ULSD and I got the best mileage I have ever had.....go figure

Even though your local station may have just relabeled their pumps, you've probably been buying ULSD for the last few months. There is no minimum amount of sulfur in LSD, only a maximum amount for both LSD and ULSD. The refineries probably switched over to ULSDmany months ago and it takes some time for the stations to run several tanks of ULSD through their plumbing before they switch labels on the pumps.

 

there is a way to tell if you have ULSD or LSD. . .ULSD foams white, LSD foam is yellowish

 

well we got white foam and ULSD in florida I noticed it in Nov. so I assume we've been on it awhile out here now. Pry one step behind cali!
