Default Early2008 VS Late2008

got the 2008 6.7 in sept. did not have any problems at all. guy runs stop sign and totals truck. long story, got new one last week, 08 6.7 again, identical truck. new things I noticed. 1. whine in turbo 2. not as good acceleration from stop 3. push in jake brake not noisy at all and dont really feel it like before as old one was abrupt. 4. takes much longer for engine lite upon start to go off so I can start the motor. 5. engine feels much much tighter like it doesnt want to go 6. when I take my foot off the gas, the truck doesnt seen to coast but acts like the brakes are on and slows down quickly. Am I paranoid or are these things new things as updated model and computer updated etc.? any response will help. maybe the new ones are different. thanks

ramit: the silencer ring is not something you put in. its already there, but some opt to take it out. seeing as his truck is brand-spank-me new, he prob still has his silencer ring...

my opinion. . .give the truck some time to wear in a bit. your old truck had probably worn in and was running better with some miles on it. give her some time and see what happens.

You can run the Jake Brake in Ca. Its not illegal. If it was you wouldn't be able to buy one from the factory with it.

I agree with Drew. Let it break in. Best of luck. Sorry to hear about your truck.

Hmm, well that doesnt really stop the truckers around my place. They still use them. But I could see Cali doing something like that.

clarification, I am in socal. Jake brake use is not permitted near residential areas, commercially speaking ( and it is usually posted wear you can't use them) there you go. oh and to try to stay on topic. let it break in!!! hope this helps.
