I did what I thought I would never do........
I traded in my much loved 03' for.........a Tacoma. I am still kind of in shock about it right now. That was the first truck that I have ever actually loved. It was set up just the way I wanted it and did everything that was ever asked and never batted an eye. But with 110K no warranty and having to do periodic maintence, not to mention fuel at $3.90-$4.12 a gal it was starting to get expensive. The new truck (had 14 miles when I picked it up) gets the same mileage, has a full waranty, and costs less per month in financing, so it seemed like a smart thing in the long run. So long story short I won't be lurcking around here anymore, thanks for all the good info that I received over the years.
Now a little shamless plug here is a link to the things that I took off since it would do others more good than the dealer.

tacoma's are good little trucks. . .the newer ones have the 2.7L, which is still based off the 22R engine, just stroked. I've got a yoda as well. .. good truck, but the payload leaves alot to be desired.
the only complaint I have is the engine could use a bit more power. . .but then again I'm comparing grapes to grapefruit

Wow that sucks !!
Just because you don't have the truck anymore, that doesn't mean that you can't hang out though. We've got quite a few cats who hang out who don't have CTD's yet.

Can't say I blame you. Right now I am in a position to be able to afford the fuel, payment, and insurance. But it might all change one day. Best of luck and don't be a stranger. Stop by occasionally at least to see how everyone is doing.

Just cuz you're outta the military doesn't mean you're not a brother-in-arms. I'm sure you have a ton of knowledge that you can still share with the rest of us. Once a brother, always a brother! (Plus when that 'Yota craps out on ya you'll end up with another CTD. May as well stay up on 'em!
) Good luck with the new truck!

Yeah, well how much are you paying for your warranty now? Even with no warranty and 110k I bet you're spending more on the monthly payment for the Toyota than what you were in up keep for the Cummins. With it being 5 years old it was probably paid for (or close to it) too.

every time I get in my yoda to start it up I pause for a moment. . .then realize I'm alot closer to the tarmac and the engine sounds alot different.

how long will it take for me to be able to just get in and start the motor without looking for the light to go out?
