Default ATS

just got off the phone with ATS in Meridian MS. After considering all the options we came down to 2 ways of doing it.

#1 $7300-$7500 Full Stage 4 upgrade. Trans, TC, Commander, Deep Pan, Flex & Input shaft.

#2 $3500-$3700 TC, Flex & Shift kit

I've got a smarty I wanna be able to run on 100hp tune full time and have no worries. Of course stage 4 would be preferred but is considerably more. He claims with the shift kit and assuming my tranny is in good shape I could get at least 100k out of it. If not I was about to buy a tranny the first time right?

When the tranny does go will it give warning like the torque convertor it does it just stop?

Does option 2 include a valve body?

Do those prices include installation?

depends on what type of transmission failure you have. More often than not, it feels like it went into neutral.

Hey Aero, I'm glad ya got around to calling Gary over at Meridian Fuel Injection. I have to say that he's as honest as they come, and is very co-operative.

Well you already know my opinion of which route to take. Remember, if ya want peace of mind when you're out running with the big dogs.........Stage 4 Assembly Billet!

Do it once and do it right the first time.

GO FOR IT

How much more is the stage 4 over the stage 1?

Here's the link to ATS's Dodge tranmission page. As you can see, it's broken down to year and degree of componets.
Check it out........

He said that his option #2 would be fine as long as I'm not doin boosted launches cause the lack of the billet input shaft, which I'd pry do just to get safe. Instead of going Stage 4 all at once I think I might have to do it twice, the first time get everything but the tranny itself and later swap it out for an ATS trans as well... I got a tow offer this summer I'd like to pull off but need at least the new TQ Conv before I do a 40hour haul. So I may be able to get his Option 2 and do this haul where as with the Stage 4 I could round up the cash in time for the haul. looks like I should pry crunch the numbers soon, see what I get.....

Before I spent that kind of cash I would be getting a second opion from Dave at http://www.goerend.com/ In the past 10 dasy I've talked to a few people who drove from the Denver and FL to IA to have dave build there transmissons.

sounds over priced to me... I had mine rebuilt last year instead of a repair and it ran me 3800... included a heavy duty rebuild kit.. kevlar band, better clutch packs & HD TC. havent had any issues with running any power level on it. the tranny just plan holds. I think the input shaft is overkill unless your dragging it or sled pulling... daily driving, (and beating on it) I have had no issues.
