RE: install a pryometer
Obi,
According the EdgeProducts http://www.edgeproducts.com/product_...manual-147.pdf
Highest you want EGT's to go is 1350 degrees max, when I drilled my sensor, I ran a shopvac while drilling/tapping to catch the shavings. Edge says to run the truck at idle for 10-15 seconds to remove remaining shavings.
Good luck!

Also run a small pocoket magnet into the manifold and sweep around to remove any shavings. I applied very light pressure while drilling to keep the shavings small. Get a quallity tap and coat it with grease so the shavings stick to it. Use the vaccum and magnet. Idle for a few minutes before driving.

it is also best to do it on a cold engine. that way any particles that are left in the manifold wont damage the turbo.
when I did mine I used the thickest grease I could find and stopped often to clean the bit and apply new.
I did the same with the tap. back it out often and clean it good.
