are you familiar with st. joe state park? it's about 60 miles south of st. louis near park hills and farmington. it's a state owned and operated park with camping, off road vehicle area, free truck wash, and fishing/swimming lakes. daily fee for orv area is about $3. thousands of acres of sand, mud, and trails. i think you must display an orange flag on trucks, but they sell them there.

Thanks for all the links guys.

Yes, I have been to flat river (st. joe), it was ok I wasn't there very long though.

I have found a few now that are relatively close to me, but none of them have the scenery that I was hoping for..... but I guess that is probably asking too much around where I live [:@].

Here is one that is up by Hannibal. Ive drove past the place a few times but never stopped in. I need new tires before I even think about going off road. For some reason my back tires are bald. The second link is for a park in Union, Mo.

when I used to run my baja in the desert, the guys and I would use GOOGLE EARTH. you must download the software to use it. it is very very different from google maps.

http://earth.google.com/

we also used state topo maps. https://shop.delorme.com/OA_HTML/DEL...?section=10096

find your local walmart, or map store and grab a state topo map (same as what is in link above). it only shows terrain, trails, and roads. it will give a highlight of cities but is used for GPS and trail finding

one suggestion...

TAKES LOTS OF PICS!!!
