Must be cold up north or is it 5.00 a gallon time
4.17 is the cheapest diesel I'm finding in Orlando, so I guess they must be using the hell out of it heating.
The way it keeps going up we going to be at 5.00 a gallon and that's bullship and I don't want to hear we paying less than Europe, gas taxes are not paying for our health care.
And that bull we are still making the same profit margin, if I could charge more for my labor because the material costs went up, so I could make the same 20 percent of material costs I made 10 years ago, I could be charging 150.00 a hour.
But then government doesn't control handyman, so when the prices went up as with anything else, more people would be doing it and the prices would come back down, if not crash.
So I guess I just have to be happy with material prices going up and them bringing in cheap labor so big money peoplecan get a fix and build another billion dollar weekend house .

Well, its 60-65 during the day and 45-50 at night here in mid-michigan. Haven't had my furnace on in the last week and a half. So its not going up because we're burning more for heat. I think its the rise in fuel usage from all the retirees coming back from florida, texas, and arizona from spending the winters south. I'd be glad to pay 4.17 as its anywhere between 4.29 to 4.40 within 15 miles of my house. Just hang in there, as soon as all the snowbirds get home the price will drop down immensely........

several things, Europes taxing of their gas has been taken out of context, kinda like how big of a bass drew told all his friends he caught last week. We know it was just a large bream. LOL. But their gas without taxes is still far higher than ours, and the crap about the weak currency adversley affecting it is horse **** cause the euro and pound are strong.
Secondly this myth about the summer driving season is another line of bull, now please read this before you say eh too many numbers.
Avg commute in America is 23 miles, so let's bump it down to 20 miles to make math easier and help the oil companies statement about summer trips. So 20 miles one way is 40 a day times 5 days a week = 200 miles, multiply by 2 for the spouse and you get a total of 400 miles, then let's say one of their 2 kids drives to school, (even if he's too young the parent would drive him so gas is spent) and let's be generous and say only 10 miles one way, so that's 100 a week, and them another 100 between the 3 of them on the weekend, so that's 600 miles a week that wlthey are not driving while on vacation, the oil companies just try to make you think of the long drive you take on vacation without factoring out the miles you would be driving on your daily routine.
Oil cos just try to come up with a reason for increase and most people just accept it.
They say if the US oil reserves decrease then oil price must increase, if the dollar get weak oil prices must increase. Well last Monday they were expecting low numbers on our reserves, but turns out we had a much larger surplus than expected an the dollar went up as well, yet oil prices instead of dropping or at least staying the same, they went up.
A few weeks ago oil dropped 3 bucks unexpectedly, then suddenly an oil refinery on Africa gets "attacked" and oil bounces right back up to where it was. The oil co didnt release any info on the attack or give any damage est. My guess is they lit of some firecrackers called it an attack and raised oil prices.

Well I guess I need to go look for all that free grease andmake me a bio fuel for next to nothing.
I had people ask me it I was making my own. i said I would ifI could find the grease but every place I talked to, lease their oil, so they can't give it away.
I guess I can allways get my sign out , will work for diesel

I dont think the price is going to go down at all. I think that 6 months from now the price of our fuel will be $5.00 a gallon. Hopeully McCain will do something about it in January, because we damm well know bush aint gonna do anything.
I saw it for $4.74 today...almost blew my coffee all over my window. If you drive less than a mile it's only $4.50 (god did I just say only) I have yet to figure out why people don't shop around a little bit.

Believe me I keep an eye out so I know I'm getting the lowest around me, when it was down to 2.50 you see stores dipping below that once in a while, so when I was using 2 tanks a week, I kept up on what was on my entire route, sometimes it was worth it to lose 20 minutes fighting traffic off the big road to get a good deal on fuel.
Haven't seen it do anything but go up and up since we hit 3 dollars and hasn't stopped yet,so Murphy Oil has been the cheapest for meand then don't adjust their prices by the hour, like most do now days.

Ramitone. . .first of all a weak dollar is probably the largest reason for the high price of oil. Oil it traided in the U.S. Dollar. therefore when the dollar is weak the pound and euro can buy more oil products for the same price. when the dollar is strong the oppisite happens. the euro union is absolutely loving the weak dollar, and they are doing everything they can to keep it weak. Another large factor is that China and India are sucking up more and more oil since their economys are booming.
What can this nation do to lower fuel prices. for starters the tax code we have in place crushes buisnesses. More and more Companies move their headquarters overseas just to get away from the tax codes that are in this country. Next, we need to tell these envirowackies where to shove it. their communist view of how the world works is what has caused more and more refineries to close. lower refinery capacity, with an increased demand will only lead to one thing. . .supply and demand economics at its finest.
my last statement here is going to be on the news media. they report that oil companies are making these 'insane' profits. .. .however what is the profit margin. . .not so much as you thought eh??? next time look at the profit margin for Merk, Johnson & Johnson, Heck, even Walmart. You hear about how Senators and congressmen, even Hillary and Barack are talking about 'taking' these 'insane' profits. that will only do one thing. . .increase the price of fuel.
