Headin' to The Coast
Actually, I did ask about it.
Right now, they aren't doing the swap. Too much computer integration to work through, so that isn't an option with them yet.
Even with the Ford 5R110 (TorqueShift) they can't mount the tranny on the tranny dyno to flow test it. They actually mount the thing in a truck and test it mounted. All the integration with the ECM makes it a be-otch.
But yes, I did ask.

As to Reeds question. I've had my Edge on there since the truck had, ohhh 7500 miles. It's at 28000 right now. From the get go, it COULDNOT handle anything above level 3 from a standing start, even under no boost launches.
What you need to realize is this. The friction material on the tranny clutches is only about 1/8" thick. After that, you are metal on metal. I'll show you the pics of the internals when I get home and can upload the pics.
I normally drive day to day on level 3 and highway on level 1. Occassionally, some little rice head would get a taste of 4 or 5.
The only time I could use 4 or 5 was when I was already on the highway or rolling at 50+ MPH. Even then, if I hammered it and it downshifted, it would slip the tranny BAD.
What I've been noticing recently is a shudder under moderate - moderate / heavy acceleration. Not good. That means either the clutch packs or the TC was giving up the ghost.
So, I was able to get about 20K out of the BONE stock tranny before I started having issues with it and I don't BEAT my truck all that often just for that reason............that's gonna change.
