Default Headin' to The Coast

.........SunCoast that is!

Diving down this afternoon, dropping the truck off at 8 in morning and "should" have it back at the end of the day.

MUWAHAHAHA!!!

Let the carnage commence.

Yes Mayfair, I'll get pictures...................if you can see them through the smoke.

Truck is done! HOLY FRIGGIN CHRIST, these guys are AWESOME!!!

Let me just say that SunCoast is a class act operation. I showed up a bit early today and the guy (damn, I can't rememebr his name....real nice guy) asked if I wanted a tour of the place. Showed me through the conveter shop, the tranny shop, showed me whole process they go through making the TC's and had cutaways of the trannys and showed me what all they do and what parts get modified.

The guy doing my truck actually had it done around 3pm, but get this.....he took it for a test drive and didn't like the "feel" of the valve body. So, he pulls the truck back in.....builds a new valve body RIGHT THERE and installs the new one. Friggin awesome.

This place has more mills, lathes, CNC machines, CAD crap than I have ever seen. There are TC's and Tranny's stacked to the ceiling of every wall, in every room, of every building.

The shop was actually closed when he got it done, so I can't pick it up until the morning. If you ever come here, plan on staying overnight. There is a real nice hotel just around the corner from the shop and if you need a rental, Enterprise is only 5 mins away.

Total price, out the door, installed, tax, extra fluid for the deep Mag-Hytec Pan and all was $6680.

Overall, an absolutely awesome experience. I'm really glad I came here and actually witnessed the operation.

Only got totake the truck on short drive and didn't wanna beat it yet, engine and trans weren't warmed up. But the shifts were NOTICEABLY crisper.....no slop at all.

I couldn't go in the bay while they were doing the actual install because of their insurance, but I've got a ton of pics of the facility and the whole process.

I'll post them up when I get home tomorrow.

If you were on the fence, you NEED to actually see this place. These guys are awesome. My truck got looked over by no less than 3 tech's before it went on the road.

I'll give the full skinny on how it works when I get in. First on-ramp I get to is getting scorched.

I'm gonna leave the Smarty turned down to 2 until I get home....... I wanna make it back on this tank of fuel.

I'll crank the Edge up to 4 and 5 and see how she rolls. The stock tranny couldn't hold those under full throttle, so this will be a good indication.

I'll let ya know how it is feels when I get back. Just from the short little around the block tripI took, it's NICE!

Oh yeah, my AFE Stage II and CFM+ are at the house too.

MUWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Just curious, how long did you drive around on your stock tranny with the Edge and did you ever have a problem other than slippage under full throttle?

"Thats not the tires squealing, thats the asphalt begging for mercy!" Someone is going to need tires soon…..

On a side note, someone once mentioned about the ability to swap in a 68RFE for a 48RE. Did you talk to those guys about swapping? Is it possible?
