when my uncle rebuilds the tranmissions in the jeeps and gas dodge trucks he always says to take it easy for the first 500 miles til it has worn in a bit. All the ones he has built have stayed together so far!

I prefer....Drive it like I'm gonna use it.

The only things I ever really try to "break in" is on a brand new car.

First thing I do is get the brakes seated in good. Right to a big parking lot, 50 - 60 MPH, HARD on the brakes down to 5 MPH or so (but DO NOT STOP). Do this about 5 - 6 times and then run them normal.

Other than that, I try not to stress the engine too much for the first 500. I get on it, but I also make sure it goes through FULL hot / cold cycles. I think that is more important than the actual mileage. If you drive it, get it all the way up to temp then let it cool off completely.

Besides doing that, all you're doing is prolonging the inevitable. It'll either break now or later.

I silencer ring is a ring placed inside of the turbo to quiet down the noise that comes from it ( the turbo )
