well I did F^@$* up...
was horsin around with the truck , and blew out the trans.
the column shifter only has Park and Drive (no 1 0r 2) now. no other gears NO REVERSE!!!!!!! [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

will a 2005 ctd trans fit in a 93??
Dave said the 05 would fit a 95. how about a 93?????
why the hell did I destroy the trans???
how the hell did I destroy the trans???
if the rears never turned for a burn, the rear brakes were locked or the gears were already super weak....

More than likely you fried the clutch packs. From the sounds of it, the 1st and 2nd clutch packs.
If you were applying power and the wheels weren't turning, that means 1 - The TC frictions were getting smoked or 2 - the tranny frictions were getting smoked.
Will it move at all in D?
Is 3rd still available?
If you can still drive in 3rd, then the TC isn't fried, it's your 1-2 clutch packs.
Any grinding, crunching, other BAD sounds?
If not, then you may be able to get away with a re-build.
Mine was gonna buy the farm sooner rather than later, so I just said F it and did a preemptive pilgrimage to Sun Coast.

I have:
NO reverse
NO 1 and 2
NO neutral
on the column
I can drive . its a bit slow at first but does wind out all the gears. the OD switch even works on OD still.
its 2g's last I checked for a rebuild here. thats a custom hvy dty rebuild from what I was told.
No bad noises, no extra noises.

Starting off slow????? You mean like it's NOT starting in 1st gear?
Throwing any codes???
I hate to say it, but you already know that it needs to go in.
I'm still betting that you fried the 1-2 clutch packs.
Only other thing is maybe you grenaded the valve body. That would be the best case scenario, as you don't have to rebuild the rest of the tranny and the tranny doesn't need to be removed.
Before you do that though, unhook both batteries for about 20 minutes. Probably won't do a damn thing, but if it's something electrical you may be able to reset it.
If it does need to be rebuilt, I HOPE you can get away with it for 2K. That would be a bargain. Considering that my trans (after core refund) was $2800 all by itself. That's just the tranny and not the extra's, the labor, the TC, nothing. My total bill for something that is capable to nearly 2K lb/ft was almost $6800. But, that gives me a 2 year / unlimited mileage warranty on that puppy too.
A torque converter alone is gonna run over a grand.....a valve body is around the $500 mark.....a fairly stout tranny will be 2K by itself. Start adding in the billet shafts and you toss on another grand. Flex plate is gonne run around $500 or so.
Just lettin' ya know the cost of built parts.

Well, it looks like you're definately at the crossroads.
Do you minimize your cost and go back to a stock configuration, or build her up a little more stout.
Got to say that you got alot of miles and hours behind the wheel before this situation occured, but like most of us, the temptation to modify and upgrade the engine is hard on the transmission.
I'm not mechaniclly savy, but all along in the beginning, I knew that the weakest link was our transmissions. I suppose light duty work is not a problem for a stock transmission, but I planned to tow 16k plus thru the mountains and the no man's plains. Upgrading my transmission was high on my to-do list.
Hope that things work out for ya, at least you have a few options.

no codes from computer.
remeber this is a 1st gen!
very very few sensors for the computer.
the $2g's I mention was from a mechaninc 3 miles from me as of last year. he builds them there. right out of the vehicle.
..I only have 1 battery
they didnt do that til 2nd gen...[&o]
for now, its drivable.
*Dave did say a 2005 trans would fit a 1998, not a 1995 as I mentioned afore.

Yeah, that '05 tranny is the computer controlled RE unit, your 95 is a hydraulic RH.
'05 tranny wouldn't work in the 95, it's too tied into the ECM. You'd need a stand alone controller to run it.

What if you took the money it would cost to rebuild and slapped a down payment on a new one (assuming the monthly payments would be too difficult) they're giving these new trucks away. It might be something to think about.
Either way best of luck
