98 making terrible creaking noise
Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum and need some help. My 98 ram is making an awful creaking noise when I turn the wheel and when I hit any kind of bump it sounds like it's riding on the leaf springs. I'm guessing the shocks have gone and that accounts for the leaf spring noise when I hit any bumps in the road. But I can't figure out for the life of me what is causing the creaking when I turn the wheel. I checked the power steering fluid and it's fine. It really isn't the same noise you get when the pump is dry. I greased most of the connecting arms below but still nothing. This thing sounds like an old ship. Could the shocks be causing all of it? This one is over my head...Help?
Thanks,
Mike

Jake,
The creaking noise when I turn the wheel seems to come from the front. But if I hit any kind of bump, thesoundcomes from the front and back. Sounds just like I'm riding on the springs.
Thanks
