devil I'm not gonna drag this on so don't feel obligated to reply

But enacting this rule for the whole forum because of some other areas of this forum is bad management, you don't punish all areas of your company because one area isn't performing well. I'm not at Paris island where the whole unit gets more PT while the guy that F's up gets to sit by and watch. I can't virtually "train" another member to not be an ***.

As for the diversification and meeting new members I'm sure theres pleanty of members that wish they never met ramitone.

Casual dialogue between tech posts are helpfull in establishing relationships and theres far too many members to get to know everyone.

I do feel obligated because I want to get this over with....as to some degree its stupid that we have to even have this discussion. Having said that...

As for enacting the rule for the whole forum, this was always the rule.....all we did was allow people to try to start up their own. When it failed for virtually every section, rather then try to pick one or two areas, we simply reverted back to the previous rule. While this rule is not listed as an official rule, this is how the moderators are instructed to handle their sections. If you were on the outside looking in, would it be fair for you to not be able to have an OT section in your area....and watch someone else have it? I dont think so, and that's the exact issue we will not allow to happen.

Unfortunately, OT posts that have nothing to do with the section at all, will continue to get moved. This is not going to stop. If its a member buying a new car, or a member having a kid, I see no reason why it cant be left alone. However, things like the Obama discussion, oil discussion, or stuff like the NASCAR race....those will get moved....

not being a dick but you hit one of my pet peeves. Theres no need to say revert back or reverted back to something, its just revert or reverted. Like we reverted to our old style of defense. Sorry its just that, irregardless (holy **** my iPhone autotyped it, I'm gonna email Steve about that), close proximity and could care less. They are all incorrect and for some reason drives me nutts when I see/hear those.

Devil I see managents side to this, but unhappy employees don't help either.

Hey this has nothing to do with Diesels of trucks, I think it needs to be moved.

Lol. The reason why we don't post in the "Off Topic" is becuase we are better than everyone else, I didnt want to be the concieted one to say it. But we post Off Topic stuff within our section because we don't want to hear opinions from some 16 yr old kid with a Neon, who thinks he has a race car. We are like family in here. Cumminalong and I have had a pissing match in one thread, that doesnt mean I hate the guy, I am sure he has alot of good advice. I just like grinding his gears because now I know how. HEHEHE. Anyways,

Wow, I have never heard the word "reverted" used so many times in one sentence. OH, ****, sorry bout that, this had nothing to do with the Off Topic Topic. I got a little Off Topic there. I will try and keep it together.[X(]

I come to the ctd section because this area is full of people with the same intrests, and most of them have the same maturity, If I put something on as off topic it is put there because it is something that I feel I would like to share with people I feel I have some type of connection with, not share with the entire world.

Why the "F" are there even MODERATORS on this site?

You obviously don't use them. The MOD's should be the ones stepping in and keeping things on the level.

Most of the folks in the CTD section have a GREAT time ragging on each other and things certainly go OT.

If a poster starts a thread and it starts going in a direction that he doesn't want, then 1 - He / She should be the first one to say something, and 2 - If it continues, then the MOD should step in.

Just moving posts because they don't "fit" into a certain section is BS.

If someone were to come in to the CTD section and say, "Hey, I have a problem with the spark plug gap on my Hemi. Can you help?" Well, then that there is REAL post to move, it obviously has a specific area the will yield a specific result.

If someone comes in and wants to share a funny with the people that he or she is comfortable with, then WTF is wrong with that?

I come in and ask folks in this section questions because they tend to be a much tighter knit group. The COMMON BOND is not just that we drive a Dodge vehicle, it's that we have a specific component in that vehicle. I don't go into the 3rd Gen section because, quite frankly, there are too many over-inflated, under-educated, wanna be cool guys. My truck may be a 3rd Gen, but the similarities to a Hemi powered 1500 are slim.

If you want to generate traffic in another forum, then get some people that are semi interesting in those sections! I don't ever intend to go down to the OT section and weed through 900 posts to find one thing that might be of interest. I don't care about your guitar, your kid, your new whatchamajigger.......BUT, I have a choice. I can CHOOSE to click on the topic or NOT! Same thing in this section. YOU can make a CHOICE to read, follow along or move out and proceed to something else.

Like cumminalong said, I don't care what someone in 3rd gen thinks, the guys and gals in ctd seem to have a bond, and most of us don't mix well with others, probably the reason ctd section is as clickish as it is, if I have a bad day at work and want to vent, I don't want some 16 year old who has never had a real job let alone tried to run a crews take on it, I would rather post it in an area where most people are professionals also.
